Our previous boat’s antiquated compass had a large air bubble in it and more deviation than our poor navigator could cope with. Replacing it with a new Plastimo Olympic 135 was life changing! The deviation dropped to a maximum of 4 degrees. Her new owner (who still sails with us) gets daily pleasure from it’s giant easy-to-read card.
On delivery of our new boat, we didn’t hesitate; a new Plastimo Horizon 135 was immediately ordered and installed. And it’s wonderful! The other item kept in the chart table is an Iris 100 hand bearing compass. Taking accurate sight bearings with it is child’s play. If you haven’t used one, pop down to our boat and we’ll show you!
